Sesame String Beans

Sesame String Beans
 Try this new asian twist on your classic green beans!

PREP TIME: 15 MINUTES

SERVING SIZE: Four

INGREDIENTS


  • 4 cups of fresh green beans, stems removed
  • 6-8 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp oil of your choice (we used olive oil)
  • 1/3 cup + 1 tbsp of soy sauce, divided
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds

 

DIRECTIONS


  • Put your pan on medium to medium-low heat and add oil
  • Once the oil is heated, add your minced garlic and sauté for about 3-5 minutes, or until golden brown
  • Add the 1/3 cup of soy sauce, along with the salt, pepper, and turmeric
  • Mix together well
  • Continue cookning this mixture for about 10 minutes, stirring constantly until it is thick and syrupy
  • Add in your sesame seeds, additional tbsp of soy sauce, and green beans
  • Toss gently to coat and cover
  • Cook for about 8-10 additonal minutes, stirring every minute or two until tender
  • *May be served with rice for a heartier dish
