Stovetop Apple Crisp

You'll know fall is here with this delicious recipe from Tiny Kitchen Big Food
PREP TIME: 20 MINUTES
SERVING SIZE: Four
INGREDIENTS
For Crisp Topping
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Heaping 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
- Pinch of salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons of maple syrup
- 3/4 cup of Quick Oats
For Apple Mixture
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Heaping 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
- 2 large McIntosh apples
DIRECTIONS
For Crisp Topping
- Combine butter, cinnamon, maple syrup, vanilla, and brown sugar to skillet and heat
- When bubbly, add pinch of salt and oats
- Stir to coat the oats
- Mixture should end up dry, roast slightly to make sure oats are cooked
- Remove from skillet onto paper plate to cool
- Cool for about 10 minutes until crunchy
For Apples
- Combine butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar to skillet and heat
- Peel apples, remove core and seeds. Dice apples
- When mixture in skillet is bubbly add apples
- Cook on medium for about five minutes until apples are tender
Combine Apples & Crisp
Layer apples on a plate or bowl
- Crumble crisp on top breaking it up with your hands
- Add ice cream or whipped cream (optional)
